Plus size fashion was never as exciting as 2018 <3

Smart brands start to realise, the potential and buying power of plus size consumers (though not reaching menswears yet).

In November 2018, there are a few cool collaborations happening. I wouldn’t say that they are all size inclusive but… let’s just say friendlier than before and it’s exciting 😉

Let’s talk about them now, shall we?

1. LaQuan Smith x Asos

I LOVE ASOS, they are the coolest fashion brand out there, with higher quality line Asos Design. And This time, they launched a size inclusive capsule collection with LaQuan Smith. The 30 year old designer already gained popularity amongst stylist and the fashion scene in NYC, but many people still do not yet know him.

Laquan made his name from working with celebrity stylists, to dress the biggest stars like Rihanna, Kim K and Beyoncé.

With this ASOS Collab, it will allow him to become a staple in the nonconformists and the drastic social’s fashion world.

The big buzz that further pushes this collection though, comes from Lovisa Lager in the lookbook.

Refreshing image of the half Swedish half asian plus size model, wearing a vinyl off shoulder dress in the campaign, is shared many times across the internet in the past weeks.

2. Jason Wu x Eloquii

Jason Wu is a leading global design talent based in New York, NY. Through merging classic American sportswear elements with a refined couture sensibility, he has created an internationally recognized brand in just 10 years.”

Known for the craftsmanship of his clothing collections, Jason Wu teams up with Eloquii and created a festive capsule, which was launched last week on the Eloquii website.

There is a reason why “It-girl” models are so welcomed by brands, as they can predominantly bring out the essence of a collection just by being themselves, almost effortlessly.

Paloma Elsesser is the face & body of the collection. She is one of the muses representing curves in America now.

You will find a short cinematic introduction, and a series of photo of her in these Jason Wu design gowns on the website.

These dresses are so perfect for Christmas and NYE celebrations for the Eloquii crowd.

3.Moschino x H&M

! Moschino! is one of our favorite brands of all time for it’s tongue in cheek, fun and playful designs. They make us feel young forever 🙂

The brand has been a curves inclusive luxury brand for decades now (some styles go up to US14/16). And when the collab with H&M were announced, it got many of the curvy bloggers excited for below reasons.

  1. We see Barbie Ferreira being the face for curves with the brand.
  2. We see how plus size models can finally be casted in more edgy campaigns
  3. We see they are being more body positive showing fat rolls in high fashion campaigns
  4. We see that H&M will carry larger sizes for this collab (but in the end it only goes up to EU42

So, yeah November is a good month in 2018 for curves and plus size fashion and we are looking forward to have more brands coming forward to embrace the other 65% of the population in the US and the rest of the world.
