Target x PETER PILOTTO 2014 Spring Collaboration

Good news! Us inbetweenies are the lucky bunch. After Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, Philip LimTarget is collaborating yet again with one of the most sought after fashion designers of today, Peter Pilotto.

I was lucky to get one of the items from the collection before it’s launch, it is definitely not easy to style. The quality is only ok as the fabric is polyester on most items and definitely not for summer.
Go get yours online before it gets too warm!

well as and, #PETERPILOTTOforTarget will feature women’s

Of course I hope there will be many pretty dresses at least up to size 18 😀  Here are some of my favorites from their Ready to wear / Resort collections.

Isabel and Ruben Toledo collaborate with Plus size fashion Giant Lane Bryant

Finally comes the era for plus size fashion to shine.

Lane Bryant issued a press release on the 9th, that they are launching something different rather than their current mature plus size fashion.

To collaborate with designers Isabel and Ruben Toledo, whom designed the outfit below for Michelle Obama for the inauguration in 2009, aiming at the younger consumers.

And the designs should be innovative and deary, which give me a little more hope for plus size fashion in the commercial sector. I have been talking and moaning about this for year and in many of my post, now I can only wait to see what will be their first collection!

Press release reports that a holiday collection will be released early 2014, followed by the Spring Summer 2014 collection, and first items to test the market would be tees and totes.

I am already dreaming of items that is similar to my favorite Moschino cheap and chic!

Maybe soon that straight size girls will come over and tell me that they wish they were plus size or fat enough to wear the clothes we are wearing 😉

Plus size Lingerie for Curvy girls

Most women are envy of busty women but what they don’t know is, how heavy it is to carry our bunnies around all day! It’s not easy to find supportive, functional and gorgeous design at the same time, and I used to complain that there are none of those out there for plus size / curvy women.
But Times are different now. If you are still complaining about it, it means you have not done enough research about this topic. Or you have not heard of Georgina Horne and her blog which focus a lot on the support of undergarment and you should check it out.
Fuller figure fuller bust blog is very informative if you want to go into detail. But I thought I would show you different styles that is for me or maybe other heavy top women in a more pictorial session below 😉
As a curvy girl, I have always attracted a lot of unwanted attention due to my bra size, and that would be the last thing I want while I am at work. It’s the best to wear something more supportive and comfortable. Simple, full cup with thicker straps and preferably one that won’t show lines at the back like below.

Posture Support Bra from

Websites where you can find various and supportive designs.

Roamans – up to 54G

Bravissimo – up to 40GG

Debenhams – up to 46FF

The key to looking gorgeous in casual wear is wearing the right bra. As a plus size woman, I need the support to achieve that sexy look. Any lumps and bumps would be better to be tucked inside my ultimate bra, otherwise I would look a bit out of shape! There are specific Tee-shirt bras out there to help us…

I have recently purchased one from Gorgeous by Debenhams and this is how I look in them.

Luxury Lingerie

I have always been a fan of Lingerie sets, garter belts and panty hose. My favorite brand is no doubt Agent Provocateur , but they only go up to size 36E 🙁

Oh well , just like plus size fashion, I will just need to wait for the day when they finally notice the buying power at the higher end market in the plus size section.

In the mean time, there are these choices I would recommend.

Rigby and Peller – up to 4XL

Elomi – up to 4XL

Empress Lingerie- up to 3XL

Bella bella boutique – up to 4XL

What Kate Did – Vintage Lingerie – up to 1X

Diesel reboot campaign is using a plus size figure

The #DieselReboot campaign was published last week in paper and it has caused quite a stir among some of us. Well, more like just me and a few I guess because my friends who know that I am a plus size advocate start tagging me in their post and of course I could not put my mind to rest about this image. Are they going to launch a plus size line? Are they going to increase the sizes? Are they at least having a one-off collection for plus size fashionistas so they can live a short term fantasy? The fantasy that well known fashion brands have finally accepted us as if we are a “family”?
At this very moment, the world of plus size fashion have grown so much so fast that I almost don’t have to care about the straight size anymore. However, it is still very unusual that, a “cool” fashion brand like Diesel would use a plus size girl as their model/public figure. Well, no wonder they are calling it a reboot then! I do thank them for not being biased about non model size girls for the first time. It actually is promoting body diversity to the public and it is helping a lot so I really appreciate it.
After pushing and pushing for someone to hear my thoughts for a few days. I have finally gotten a reply from Christopher Kutsela @Cjkut * on Instagram and here it is.

Don’t you get excited just hearing this? Er…actually no. Here is my response, yes I was a bit upset because my dream is now shattered but nonetheless starstrucked (?)

And yes I have decided to be a b*tch about it and I mean every single word I said.
The model herself – @bee_rosemarie_calderon is not responding to anything, perhaps under contract/agreement or simply don’t care, so I will leave the little girl at that, but you can find her on instagram.
*Information about the creator of the campaign.
Nicola Formechetti – well known king of styling since he is Lady Gaga’s stylist. Who’s also the artistic and creative director of Diesel. On the side it’s his partner Christopher Kutlesa ( I dont exactly know how much he is involved in the execution but Rosemarie Calderon is apparently a choice of his for the campaign).
The campaign is about being you being unique and what inspires you. Well, are you inspired now? I am a little bit inspired but also wonder if she was actually wearing that diesel leather jacket just on her shoulder.

Broke girls (and boys) Fashion – Luxury/ Contemporary Fashion brands Collaborations/ Crossovers

Don’t have a tree that grows money in your backyard but want Stylish clothes? Here is the ultimate resource page for you.

It all started back in the 2008 (as I remembered) when people queue up over night just to get their ands on the all the “limited edition” collection which makes up all the hype.

Don’t get me wrong, I love this idea,  as it gives the opportunity for us to explore and experience different styles and not only limited to the generic colour block dresses/shift dresses (which I appreciate having available for plus size girls already). As I am a size US14/UK16, this is the only time we get to fit in some of these nicer designs. And most importantly, I am one of those broke girls who has a small budget for clothing items per month so really not complaining!

Here is a review(ones that I know of) of  these cross over collaborations between brilliant fashion designers and high street brands or limited line for department stores.

To the people who can afford luxury / contemporary designer clothes you
can suck it if you diss these collections, because it’s not like everyone can afford to pay US$500+ on a dress
which you only wear for 1 season. So quit complaining about how it “downgrade” your fashion label.
However I do agree, for timeless pieces, if anyone can afford it or can
stretch their budget for something that is longer lasting, go for it.
